Roseburg Medite® FR Fire Rated Medium Density Fiberboard Panel

Roseburg’s Medite® FR is a sustainable medium density fiberboard (MDF) panel with a Class A (1) flame spread rating that is manufactured by a patented process, which utilizes a synthetic resin system. During processing, an additive is blended with the fibers to provide flame-retardant proper ties throughout the board. Medite® FR is the ideal product for interior applications that require a certified Class 1 product and where certain indoor air quality requirements are specified.

Technical Note Medite® FR Finishing

Roseburg Medite FR® products meet Class 1 flame spread rating in accordance with ASTM E84-02011A. The flame spread rating is achieved on products “as manufactured at our Roseburg facility”. Any modifications to the surface of the product after leaving our facility could alter the flame spread rating. Therefore Roseburg cannot make guarantees regarding flame spread performance of an altered product. This includes, but is not limited to the addition of veneer laminates, paper laminates, adhesives and coatings. Testing of the final construction for a flame spread rating should be conducted when certification is required.

Medite® FR may not be suitable for every application and it is the sole responsibility of the installer to be sure that Medite® FR is fit for the intended use. Since all installations are unique, it is also the installer's responsibility to determine specific requirements concerning each application.
